8 Winter Break Adventures in Ohio

December 21, 2017

If you are like us, being cooped up in the house all day over the Holiday Break can be enough to drive you to start doing strange things... like binge watching Star Wars.  Fear not!  We are hear to help and have put together the best things to do in Ohio over the Holiday's anyone could ever offer.  In our opinion at least.

Check them out and see if you can plan to do one each day!

1. Skiing and Snowboarding with friends and family

  • Mad River Mountain has special Holiday hours from Dec. 22 to Jan 2.
  • Mad River Website: www.skimadriver.com

2. Louie Vito Rail Jam at Mad River Mountain

3. The Best Indoor Riding - BMX and MTB

  • Ray's Indoor Bike Park in Cleveland.
    • If you know, you know.  If you don't and you own a bike, you need to go check them out at least once.  This is not an option.  There is seriously something for everyone here, including great places to lounge and read a book if your job is just to shuttle the kids (and adults that act like kids) around all week!
    • They are closed on Christmas Day but run 12pm - 10pm Mon-Fri and 9am-10pm Sat-Sun.
    • Ray's website:  www.raysmtb.com

    4. Dayton Indoor BMX

    • Dayton Indoor's next race is Jan. 1.  As the first race of the New Year this one is always a good time!  Bonus: We will be there just to hang out and ride, who's coming?
    • If you are local to Dayton BMX, they are having track maintenance days on Dec. 26-27.  If you want to stop by, help out, bring some snacks or say hello, they are looking forward to seeing everyone.

    5. Indoor Climbing at Vertical Adventures

    • Vertical Adventures is located about 10 miles north of downtown Columbus and is worth the drive from anywhere in Ohio!
    • If you have never been climbing before we strongly suggest you put this on your list for things to do next week.
    • You don't have to know anything at all about climbing or gear, the super friendly staff will get you going and before you know it you'll be anywhere from 20 to 40 feet in the air!
    • Closed on Christmas Day and New Year's Day but open Mon-Fri 11am to 10pm, Sat. 11am-8pm and Sun. 11am - 6pm
    • Vertical Adventures has something for everyone in the family, from kids as young as 3 to experienced climbers and even yoga classes for the fitness lover of the family.
    • Vertical Adventures Website:  www.verticaladventuresohio.com
